Branch of the Youth Union of the VAAC visit to rural community as part of Vietnam Youth’s Month 2010 | |
11:01' AM - Thursday, 29/04/2010 | | In reponse to 2010 Vietnam Youth’s Month and the movement of “Sentimental attachment of border and island” on March 19 -21, 2010 the Branch of the Youth Union of the VAAC and Ho Chi Minh Communnist Youth Union of the Ministry of Health conducted voluntary activities in Duong Thuong commune, Yen Minh district, Ha Giang province.
It is one of the most rural areas and travel here is the most difficult in Ha Giang province. Duong Thuong’s population is 3000. Most of them are of Mong ethnic group.
In the three working day, many activities were carried out. The branch offered gifts, examined and delivered medicines to HIV/AIDS infected patients in Yen Minh district, where there are currently 20 HIV infected people.
In Duong Thuong commune, the branch organized to deliver communication materials, condoms and conducted direct communication for the ethnic group.

a Decision establishing the Centre of Research and Community Help in
HIV/AIDS Control. The Centre sits under the VAAC is established in order
to improve the capacity and efficiency of the activities of the VAAC.
On June, 02, 2010, in Ha Noi, the Centre had an opening ceremony
attended by representatives from VAAC and several domestic and
international agencies and organizations working on HIV/AID. Administrator of the VAAC Nguyen Thanh Long visited and offered gifts to HIV/AIDS infected children On the occasion of the new year of Tiger, PH.D. Nguyen Thanh Long, the Administrtor of Viet Nam HIV/AIDS control – Ministry of Health visited and offered gifts to HIV/AIDS infected children, foster mothers and staff of Centre for Education and Social Labor II, Bavi, Hanoi. Training of trainers (ToT) at provincial level on communication and Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) for HIV/AIDS prevention and control From January 26 to February 3, 2010 in Ha Noi, Viet Nam Administration of HIV/AIDS control joined force with UNICEF to hold 2 ToT training courses at provincial level on information, education and BCC for HIV/AIDS prevention and control.
