Training of trainers (ToT) at provincial level on communication and Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) for HIV/AIDS prevention and control

From January 26 to February 3, 2010 in Ha Noi, Viet Nam Administration of HIV/AIDS control joined force with UNICEF to hold 2 ToT training courses at provincial level on information, education and BCC for HIV/AIDS prevention and control. Attending the courses, there were master Chu Quoc An, The Deputy of Viet Nam Administration of HIV/AIDS, training experts of Central Centre of Communication and Health Education, Public Health University, Ha Noi National University of Education who are trainers of the ToT training courses; and 48 learners from 24 northem provinces and cities.

Those learners are provincial level staff who have a lot of experiences in communication for HIV/AIDS prevention and control. The courses aimed at training trainers at provincial level on information, education and behaviour change communication for HIV/AIDS prevention and control to conduct training and retraining in their provinces. In 7 day training courses, learners were presented basic knowledge on positive training methods; knowledge on communication for HIV/AIDS prevention and control; methods to operate BCC program in their locals. Also they practice to use positive positive training methods to do on communication for HIV/AIDS prevention and control for different target groups at provincial level.

At the end of the courses, the learners were given certifications of the courses. By knowledge equipped in the ToT training courses, learner would be able to train on communication and BCC for HIV/AIDS in their units and locals.
