To prepare to make evaluation after three years of implementation of the Law on HIV/AIDS prevention and control | |
10:54' AM - Thursday, 29/04/2010 | | To conduct the activity program of 6 early months in 2010, on March 19, 2010 The Steering Committee of the National Assembly for social issues held a session with specialists of health and law sector to preliminarily make evaluation after three years of implementation of the Law on HIV/AIDS prevention and control since it came into effect in January 1, 2007. That also evaluated the law on HIV/AIDS prevention and control in Asian reagion. Doctor Nguyen Van Tien – the vice chairman of The Steering Committee of the National Assembly for social issues sponsored the session. Attending the session, there were leaders of some departments of the office of national Assembly, leader of the VAAC, leader of the Legal Department and other related units, and Health Ministry; representative of Vietnam social insurance and domestic and international specialists in related sectors.
After listening to a brief report of the implementation of the Law on HIV/AIDS prevention and control by Deputy Administrator of the VAAC Chu Quoc An, the delegates discuss the expectation plan of evaluation after three years of implementation of the Law. They also had some comments after comparing the basic content of laws on HIV/AIDS prevention and control of some countries in the world.
The delegates highly appreciated results from the implementation of the Law on HIV/AIDS prevention and control in the past three years, especially in publishing introduction document of Law by the Government, Prime Minister, Health Ministry and other related ministries and agencies, as well as in applying the law in activities of prevention and control of locals and units. However, they also pointed out some problems that were necessary to be solved, including increasing to publicize, propagate, and educate about the law at local level, continouing to revise to publish introduction documents, changes, supplements for other related legal documents to be appropriate with the law; and impleemting the law in locals, organizations, units and individuals. All the delegates agreed to suppose The Steering Committee of the National Assembly for social issues to promote the evaluation after three years of implementation of the Law on HIV/AIDS prevention and control and enhance monitering activities of the implementation of the law in the country-wide.
