In the afternoon on December 20, 2009, in Ha Noi, The Ministry of Health – the AIDS control permanent unit of the National Committee for Drug and Prostitutions prevention and control held a conference to praise typical staff and collaborators in the work of HIV/AIDS prevention and control. Attending the conference, there were Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong, the President of the National Committee for AIDS, Drug and Prostitutions prevention and control; Deputy Minister of Health Trinh Quan Huan, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai; Vice chairman of the committee for social problems of the National Assembly Luong Phan Cu; leaders of administrtions, departments under the Ministry of Health; representatives of international organizations, other departments and organizations; press agencies; Leader of center for HIV/AIDS prevention and control and typical staffs and collaborators of provinces and cities.
At the conference, all the participants listened to a presentation of the Administrator of HIV/AIDS control Nguyen Thanh Long on the work of HIV/AIDS prevention and control in the period of 2005-2009, and reports of some centers for HIV/AIDS prevention and control, as well as shares of staffs and collaborators on the work of HIV/AIDS prevention and control.
Speaking at the conference, the Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong warmly praised and highly appreciated the efforts and dedication of the local staffs and collaborators in the work of HIV/AIDS prevention and control, especially for contribution of those who were selected to attend the conference. Also, he encouraged them to maintain and promote their achievements and to continue to have futher contribution to the work of HIV/AIDS prevention and control. Moreover he suggested that Ministries, agencies and organizations and leaders of provinces and cities throughout the countried should pay more attention to preventing and controlling HIV/AIDS and facilitate to support local staffs and collaborators in particular; and find out proposal for the Government to set up a model, network and appropriate policy to facilitate to the local staffs and collaborators, also replicated the advanced models in the work of HIV/AIDS prevention and control that was a key for the movement “All people participate in HIV/AIDS prevention and control in communities.”
At the end of the conference, the staffs and collaborators were taken photos joined a party with the leaders of the State and the Ministry of Health…

However, HIV-infected adults and minors, and especially those who have low T-helper (CD4) cell level are considered to have a higher risk of being infected and attacked by the virus that can lead to pneumonia.
